Higher Speeds Available for HoloWWW

Update to hspasswd Program

HoloWWW webmasters using the APACHE passwords to protect portions of their sites can now use hspasswd to manage nearly all aspects of their password files. For further details on using hspasswd, simply log into your webmaster.holonet.net account and type /www/shell/bin/hspasswd and you will be given details for all of the options.

Web-Based Advertising

Aaddzz, another service of IAT, Inc., is a new web-based advertising network for companies and webmasters who want to be involved in on-line advertising. Advertisers can post their banners throughout the network to bring new business to their sites, and webmasters can earn commissions by hosting Aaddzz ad spaces on their sites.

Change Billing Information via the Web

HoloNet members can now update account billing information via the web using our on-line form within the HoloNet Member Administration pages.

Send Authenticated E-mail via the Web

HoloNet members can now send authenticated e-mail messages regarding their accounts to our Support Department via the web using our on-line form within the HoloNet Member Administration pages.

Apply for a DNS via the Web

HoloNet Members can now apply for a Custom Domain Name via the web using our on-line application within the HoloNet Member Administration pages.

New Credit Card Support

HoloNet Instant Stores now support Anacom Merchant Services for credit card processing.

New 900 Number Support

HoloNet Instant Stores now support 900 numbers as a method for payments.

Upgraded Service

HoloWWW service is now more reliable. HoloWWW servers are now connected to the rest of the Internet via 5 T3s. Our main and backup servers have been moved to San Francisco.

New Graphic

HoloWWW customers can now support HoloNet's growth with this new graphic. Instructions are available for adding this graphic to your Web page.

New Service

HoloWWW customers can now create Instant Stores. Instant Stores allows the sale of goods or access to protected Web pages without any CGI programing.

New Service

HoloWWW customers can now perform credit card transactions using CGI Anywhere and the Credit Card Network.

Secure transactions (SSL) are now available.

New Services & Features

HoloWWW service is now more reliable. We have moved our main servers to San Jose, California where they are connected via T3 to the rest of the Internet. Our backup servers remain in Berkeley, California.

High speed 4 and 10 megabit Web service is now available.

Reports summarizing the number of hits per protect area account are now available using text reports.

Regular, non-demo, Web accounts can now be created using a Web browser from the member administration pages.

New Feature

Internet Wave support is now available. This feature allows HoloWWW customers to support fast-forward with Internet Wave audio files.

New Features

Anonymous FTP Uploading is now available. This feature allows HoloWWW customers to allow anyone to upload files to their web site.

Sites can now configure the maximum number of simultaneous connections. This is useful if your Web site is overloaded and you want to guarentee some level of performance for those who do manage to connect to your site. You can set this from the Configure Options page of the Web administration area.

New Features

CGI Anywhere is now availble. This feature allows regular HoloWWW customers shell ands the ability to install and run custom CGI scripts.

Excite For Web Servers 1.0 is now available: HoloWWW - Search Engine: Excite For Web Servers 1.0.

The Rocket Shop
The Rocket Shop creates custom graphics and provides a library of free clip art.

Shared bandwith service is now available. For more information see: What is shared bandwidth?

Average BPS charts are now available. Below the "old" graphic charts are a new set of charts which shows the bits per second of successfully transmitted data from your site.

Change In Service

We will soon be obsoleting access via URLs of "http://www.holonet.net/sitename". Access to these sites will be redirected to new style "http://www.sitename.holowww.com". This redirection will be transparent to most browsers. Other browsers will display a notice of the change of address.
